Grant for Clean Energy
The U.S. government is pleased to announce a regional competition of projects in the area of clean energy. The competition is part of cooperation under the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA). This initiative intends to support regional projects that include activities in two or more countries in Central America or the Caribbean.
The contest is coordinated by the U.S. Embassy in San José, Costa Rica. The Embassy will review grant proposals and / or cooperative agreements with funding from USD $100,000 USD up to $250,000 - subject to approval and verification of the availability of funds by the U.S. Congress.
Proposals may be submitted by organizations interested in promoting clean energy in Central America and the Caribbean. The U.S. government plans to award a total of USD $850,000 over a maximum period of 18 months, pending congressional funding approval and availability of funds. Eligible applicants are non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and nonprofit organizations.
