Young Costa Rican student Juan Ignacio Chaves Evans is making his dream come true: he was one of the few foreigners accepted to study at U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

“I always knew that I wanted to study abroad and it was this goal what made me look for this option that will allow me to develop special skills before coming home to serve my country. The academy’s syllabus is very attractive in diverse areas like aerospace engineering, naval architecture and aeronautics,” said Juan Ignacio, who has not decided yet which professional specialty he would choose.

Juan Ignacio will study at the Naval Academy for four years and is committed to return to Costa Rica to serve his country. “I also have the goal to obtain a Masters’ degree to be more effective in supporting my country with all that professional preparation.”
